After a mammoth 48 hours visiting some of the area's finest chateaux, and tasting iconic wines, we reached our final destination for this trip to Bordeaux. There isn't a better place to conclude what has been an eye-opening and fascinating journey than with Chateau Lafite Rothschild.
We were greeted by Frederic Mairesse, the Managing Director of the impressive First Growth, Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Located on the Left Bank, in Pauillac, Lafite has been the most globally recognised fine wine brand and is one of the most traded labels in the secondary market.
We were shown around the vineyard where some of the vines have been in place since 1886. Our tour also included the spectacular, Lafite barrel room which was one of the highlights of our whole visit to Bordeaux. See it for yourself in our video above.
Our 'Tasting Tour' of Bordeaux icons also included Chateau Cheval Blanc, Chateau Pavie and Chateau La Mission Haut Brion and provided expert insight from some of the world's foremost winemakers. I'll be using as I continue to develop my knowledge further in the coming months. It was an awesome few days and I plan to be back in Bordeaux very soon.
